Overview and our experience
Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn, rather than teaching them.
Customers tell us that, no matter how good training is, the impact back in the workplace tends to be diluted. We have identified several critical areas that impact on the return on investment of learning programmes:
- The team enjoy the day and leave with good intent to follow through on their actions but get busy and nothing changes back in the workplace
- Getting the task done is more important than reflecting on approach, behaviours and outcomes and implementing key learning from the programme
- Time and other resource pressures result in the individual having little time to reflect on their learning and development and what happens next?
In order to maximise the learning potential from any programme participants need time and space to reflect, review and consider how they will take the learning forward. This reflection piece is vital for the success of any development work and is a critical part of Kolb’s learning cycle.
To support hotels, venues and agencies to ensure that learning is not left behind in the workshop and is carried back into the workplace for improved effectiveness we have created the following Coaching pathways:
In Business Coaching – one to one real time on the job coaching that transfers learning and development actions from the training workshop into improved effectiveness back in the workplace
We would typically offer this as part of a workshop programme and coaching is offered in 60, 90 and 120 minute slots for a minimum of 5 team members.
Sales Performance Coaching & Mentoring – one to one performance coaching programmes to support your sales team to be the best that they can be and deliver the results you need.
We would typically work initially using the Insights Discovery Effective Sales Chapter and recommend 3 x 1 hour sessions.
Executive Coaching – one to one Executive Coaching to support the personal development of your Senior Leaders. So often when you get to the top your access to learning dries up. This is where Executive Coaching can prove invaluable giving you one to one support for continuous professional and personal development.
We would typically work on a face to face basis when Executive Coaching and recommend a minimum 3 x 90 minute sessions.
